画面中央的人头被无数线缆连接并悬置在扭曲的空间之中，既像一个被维持运转的个体，也像一个持续接收、读取与校正信息的意识终端。周围不断弯曲、复制和蔓延的结构，如同由信息、制度、算法与集体话语共同构成的精神内部。
《Neural Intrusion》试图讨论外部世界如何逐渐进入个体意识，并在不被察觉的情况下参与思想的形成。当信息持续穿过感知、记忆与判断的边界，所谓“外部”开始被内化为“自我”，我们也越来越难以区分，哪些念头来自自身，哪些只是被反复输入之后留下的结果。
这里的“侵入”并不指向某一个具体的控制者，而更像一种缓慢发生的渗透。技术、媒介、语言、社会规则以及他人的声音不断进入意识，并最终以“我的想法”的形式重新出现。头颅因此不再只是身体的一部分，而成为一个不断接收、储存和重新生成信息的精神节点。
作品最终留下一个无法被轻易回答的问题：
那些被我们认为属于自己的思想，究竟有多少真正来自我们自己？
At the center of the work, a human head is suspended within a distorted space, connected by countless cables. It appears both as an organism kept in operation and as a terminal of consciousness that is continuously receiving, reading, and recalibrating information. The surrounding structures bend, replicate, and spread outward, forming an internal mental landscape shaped by information, systems, algorithms, and collective discourse.
Neural Intrusion explores the ways in which the external world gradually enters individual consciousness and participates in the formation of thought without being fully noticed. As information repeatedly crosses the boundaries of perception, memory, and judgment, what is external begins to be internalized as part of the self. The distinction between thoughts that originate from within and those shaped through continuous external input becomes increasingly difficult to define.
The idea of “intrusion” does not point to a single identifiable controller. Instead, it suggests a slow and almost imperceptible process of penetration. Technology, media, language, social structures, and the voices of others continuously enter consciousness, eventually returning in the form of what we call “my own thoughts.” The head is therefore no longer simply a part of the body, but a mental node through which information is received, stored, and continuously reconstructed.
The work ultimately leaves behind a question that cannot be easily answered:
How many of the thoughts we believe to be our own truly originate from ourselves?
