In the work Storm Genesis, the storm is a being that transcends human comprehension. It is not a natural phenomenon, but a breath in which the universe is trying to correct itself. When a storm comes, it not only tears through space, but also attracts dotted matter—the embryo of life, the remains of a past civilization, or even the fragments of billions of memories. The material was guided upward by the trajectory towards the core of the storm.
At the heart of the storm is the end of everything and the beginning of rebirth. It devours everything, but never really destroys. It shatters all life, memory, and meaning, and then reassembles and refines them into a new existence. Those who are attracted to the substance, perhaps voluntary responders, may be victims of fate, but their choices do not matter. The storm ignores the will of the individual and is only concerned with the balance of the universe as a whole.
This storm mirrors our reality: restlessness, chaos, and disorder. The acceleration of technology, the depletion of resources, the flood of information - these modern storms have swept through everyone. Are we still in control of our direction? Or has it been coerced by some greater force to fuel it?
